I said I would write about movies, too, right?

I was too tired to read last night, so I decided to watch an HBO Documentary instead. In Spanish. With subtitles. So I still had to read.

It was worth the brain power. Which Way Home (2009) is one spectacular documentary chronicling the journeys of various children from Central America through Mexico and on to the USA. Heartbreaking accounts of children who never made it, children who returned home, and children whose fates are simply unknown touched me more than I can express. I truly feel for the kids who are trying to make a better life for their families and for the ones who are struggling to just be accepted by their own families.

I wish all of these kids safe travels, and I hope no matter where they end up that they find the dream they are seeking.

I'm Determined

I'm determined to read again. I promise. Working and then spending spare time on the mats has meant that reading happens at night before bed. I have been reading The World's Strongest Librarian by Josh Hanargane (Gotham Books, 2013), and I'm nearly finished. However, it has taken a month. It's a great book though giving insight into life with Tourette's Syndrome. Hanargane's experiences working at the public library are entertaining, and I can definitely relate.

I'm also reading Tree Girl by Ben Mikaelsen (Harper Tempest, 2004). I love learning more about life in the villages of Guatemala, and this book satisfies my interest. I hope to finish it very soon.

Lack of time gets annoying after a few years.
